Looking for Voice Actors for a short animation about a trans child and Dragqueens.
First, let me preface this by saying I cannot pay you, unfortunately, except maybe in art or other online services. Or food, if you can meet me irl.
Requirements to be a voice actor are:
- (IF YOU LIVE IN THE PHILIPPINES) That you can come to see me IRL and record at CSB.
- (IF YOU DON’T LIVE IN THE PHILIPPINES) A good quality mic or just that the audio you give me is clean.
The Background:
This is my thesis animation, if you are curious, and I will start the actual animation by next year, so I need this audio before then, as much as possible.
The story:
It’s about a little girl of about 7 years of age who runs away from home. Her parents are abusive (more psychologically than physically, but there are still elements of DV) because they cannot accept that their ‘son’ thinks ‘he’ is a girl.
She runs away and due to the trauma, her view of reality is presented as warped. She views the world as a dark and monstrous place until she happens upon a drag club. She sees the drag club and the drag queens in it as a circus and it’s performers. The drag queens basically then return her self-esteem or at least come to accept who she is and not be afraid to express herself.
This is the shitty short summary I can come up with at the moment, but I do have an actual script I can show if you are interested.
The Characters needed:
The Mother - Most of her lines are screamed rather than said. She’s shown as a very shrill, hateful person to her daughter. She actually has the most lines, but a lot of it is just her degrading her daughter.
The Father - Has few lines, but they’re also that of judgment and disgust.
MadMoiselle - The ‘Ringleader’ of the queens. She’s very charismatic and has a dramatic manner of speaking. Her voice grabs your attention but not in an obnoxious way.
Pixee Styxx - Pixee is a very loving individual, contrary to the stereotype one might give the Strongman of a circus, but she can also be stern in such a way that you would not want to cross her.
Audrey Auburn - Audrey is the only trans woman in the group. She speaks in the Trans Atlantic accent her idol spoke. (Yes, she is an Audrey Hepburn impersonator, if that isn’t obvious.)
Goldie - Goldie likes to play on Asian stereotypes and sometimes slips into a fake Asian Engurishu accent just to mess with people. She’s a bit uppity and talks fast to boot.

Okay so I have effectively written the knife-thrower out of my story.
Fuck a duck. I didn’t want to lessen my characters, I really didn’t, but this is for the sake of my midterm. OTL

I would still like some input on the dilemma regarding my fifth character, but in the mean time, this is the cast of characters.
In the first picture, the two on the left are already the final designs missing only a a bit of detail. The two on the right are the rough designs which will still be tweaked at a later time.
Now prepare yourself for my ~fabulous sense of creativity~ as I tell you about each character.
There’s Audrey Auburn, an Audrey Hepburn impersonator (you don’t say, Alek?) and the fire-breather.She’s the only transwoman in the group.
The strongman is Pixee Styxx (I may need to goth up her look a bit more). Pixee’s the mother-hen type.
The wee Asian lass is Goldie (yes, X-Factor inspired) and she’s going to be the acrobat when I make her look more the part. :))
And the Ring Leader of them all who also sort of doubles as a Magician is MadMoiselle. As you can see, I have a more detailed illustration on the lower left, but I’m still not super satisfied with the designs.
There’s one more character I need to design just because I feel 4 is not enough. (There was also going to be a butch lesbian bartender but then I realized I was already going overboard with the characters as it was.
Note that these are only their ‘Real World’ outfits. When the story slips into Surreal Circus world, their outfits become more on par with what circus performers tend to wear. Yes, I still have to design those.
The main character, who I have now named Dolly is proving to be a difficult character to design. All I can think of is that she wears an over-sized sweater because of her dysphoria and lack of more femenin clothes and that there’s a flip thing in her hair from where her mother ripped a ribbon she saw her wearing.
Feedback is appreciated. Especially since I feel like I’m doing a very poor job of creating drag queen characters. :))

I need opinions plz~ For my thesis blah.
As you may or may not know, my thesis involves drag queens and a little girl imagining that they’re circus performers. I have
- Ring Master who doubles as a magician
- Strongman/woman
- acrobat
- fire eater
I have one more character I need to assign a role to but each role left that I could assign has it’s pros and cons:
- animal trainer - the outfit looks too much like the ringmaster
- knife juggler/thrower - how do I interpret the ‘real world’ outfit for the child to think this person is a knife thrower?
- clown - seems a bit ‘meh’ in comparison to the other roles
Any insight would be nice. :3
